Berkhamsted is a market town in Hertfordshire. It has a population of 18,500 and the current average sale price is £474,736. Berkhamsted is located in the Chiltern Hills and lies 26 miles northwest of London.

Berkhamsted was first recorded in 970 and was listed in the Domesday Book. Berkhamsted was a wool trading town during the Middle Ages, and was one of the largest towns in England.

Berkhamsted Castle was constructed during the Norman era and was besieged in 1216 during the reign of King John. It later fell into decline and became a ruin. Today it is a tourist attraction. The Rex Cinema in the town has been described as Great Britain's most beautiful cinema.

Berkhamsted has several primary and secondary schools. Berkhamsted School was founded in 1541. Ashlyns School was established in 1935.

Berkhamsted railway station offers services to destinations including London, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Crewe.
